Integrate with Rippling via API

Today’s employers use dozens of software products to manage their workforce; but few of these products are able to share data directly. Maintaining complete and accurate data across these disconnected systems is an enormous challenge that hinders productivity and efficiency, especially among small or quickly scaling teams.

Finch is an expert in HRIS and payroll integrations. We focus on helping developers address employment system fragmentation with a best-in-class unified API and platform experience. One integration with Finch unlocks connectivity to hundreds of systems, including Rippling.

With our partnership, approved developers are able to access organization data from Rippling through Finch. Those developers will also be able to list their application on Rippling’s App Shop.  

Once integrated, simply direct your users to Finch Connect, our OAuth 2.0-based authorization flow, to grant you access to their employment system.

Once the user successfully authenticates, you will receive an authorization code. Your front-end sends this short-lived code to your application server, which exchanges it for a long-lived access_token.

Finally, your application server saves the access_token, representing your access to your user's system, to read data and push changes.

Our Rippling Integration currently supports the Finch organization endpoints. Not all fields in our Organization endpoints are supported by Rippling. Please verify the supported fields will meet your product requirements before proceeding.

While implementing Finch typically takes only a few days, some providers may require additional steps before the integration can be enabled.

To integrate with Rippling through Finch, you must first apply to become a Rippling Partner. Finch will submit the application on your behalf and will work closely with you to make sure your application is submitted correctly to ensure optimal processing and turnaround times, but this can take a few weeks.

Before submitting your final application to the Rippling App Store, you will also need to support User Management and Single Sign-On (SSO).

Finch’s infrastructure enforces TLS 1.2 for data in transit and encrypts data at rest using AES 256 bit encryption. Read more about Security at Finch. Your application front-end redirects your user to Finch Connect, our OAuth 2.0-based authorization flow, which guides your user through granting you access to their employment system.

While there is no additional cost to you (the developer) to leverage this integration, Rippling requires that each employer purchase the Identity & Access Management package in order to connect.
